About Sweetgrass Natural Medicine

INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE WITH DR. HOLCOMB JOHNSTON

Dr. Johnston earned her doctorate degree from National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) and is licensed as a Naturopathic Physician in Montana. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middlebury College with a B.A. in environmental policy; attended the University of Montana for her pre-medical education; and studied botanical medicine at the California School of Herbal Studies.

A deep reverence for the Earth, intrigue with medicinal plants, and passion for yoga all led her to the field of alternative healthcare. For four years she received extensive training as a primary care physician with emphasis in treatments for chronic illness, gastrointestinal health, cancer-care, and women’s medicine. In addition to her studies at NCNM, she also completed extra training in Applied Kinesiology, Homeopathy, Biotherapeutic Drainage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Body Talk and Reiki.

Her belief that the health of the land and the health of humans are intricately interwoven guides her philosophically and medically--just as soil must be cultivated to grow bountiful produce, we can all plant seeds to create optimum wellness. In her free time, Dr. Johnston is an avid organic farmer, cook, and explorer of the mountains. She also enjoys further study of healing arts, Qi gong, climbing, skiing, biking, and running her dogs. Holcomb is honored be a part of the vibrant community of Bozeman and to call the Rocky Mountains home.

Dr. Johnston works as a primary care physician and treats a wide variety of health issues. Here in Bozeman some of the most common conditions she sees are: thyroid disease, weight concerns, hormone imbalances, heart disease, autoimmune disease, food allergies and intolerances, depression, digestive complaints, fatigue, heart disease, sports injuries, infertility, and menstrual disorders. Dr. Johnston enjoys working with people of all ages from pre-conception on up!

Sweetgrass Natural Medicine welcomes Jessica Terress Evans-Wall!

Jessica graduated with a degree in International Conservation and Sustainable Development from Duke University in 2008. She has worked as a raft guide for the past 10 years, leading trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon and through the Grand Canyon. This fall Jess returned to school to complete prerequisite coursework in preparation to apply to Naturopathic medical school. Her long-term goal is to combine trauma and emergency medicine with a holistic naturopathic approach. To start this process she is training this fall to become an EMT. She is thrilled to be back in beautiful Bozeman and is excited to learn from the community here. Jessica will be helping Dr. Holcomb around the office and with patient care.
